FAQs on Cancellations & Safety Policies

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been successfully received.
Any setup or pack-down time must be included within your booked duration.
Payments can be made securely through our online booking platform.
For custom or group bookings made via direct enquiry, The Joyful Place may issue an invoice requiring a 50% deposit, with the balance due 14 days prior to the event.
A refundable security bond of $200 may apply for certain bookings, such as larger groups or special events. The bond will be refunded within 14 days after your booking, provided the studio is left in good condition.

In the event of cancellation, 50% of the total booking fee is considered a non-refundable deposit, which helps cover administrative and opportunity costs associated with preparing and holding your booking.
The remaining 50% may be refunded in accordance with the notice periods outlined below.
More than 28 days before the booking: 50% refund (the remaining 50% is retained as a non-refundable deposit).
Between 28 and 14 days before the booking: 25% refund.
Less than 14 days before the booking: No refund (rescheduling may be offered at our discretion, subject to availability).
The Joyful Place reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case a full refund (including the non-refundable portion) will be provided.

The studio must be returned in the same condition it was found.
Please wipe down tables, return furniture to its original position, and remove all rubbish using the bins provided.
A cleaning fee of $30–$50 may be charged if extra cleaning is required.
If you use the kitchenette, please wash and return any items used.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
The hirer is responsible for the behaviour and safety of all guests.
The Joyful Place is a family-friendly studio. No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or inappropriate behaviour is permitted.

The kitchenette is available for light use only, such as warming and serving food.
Use of the air-fryer/oven and microwave is permitted for simple reheating.
No heavy cooking, deep frying, or open flames are allowed.
Please bring your own food containers, serving dishes, and utensils if required.

Decorations are welcome, but please use Blu-Tack only. Do not use tape, nails, or pins on any surface.
Confetti, glitter, and helium balloons are not permitted unless pre-approved.
All setup and pack-down must be completed within your booked time.

Any damage to property, furniture, or equipment must be reported immediately.
Costs for repair or replacement will be deducted from the security bond or charged directly to the hirer.
The Joyful Place is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.
Hirers use the space at their own risk and are responsible for ensuring their own safety and that of their guests.

Before leaving, please ensure that:

Failure to meet these requirements may result in additional charges or loss of bond.

Public liability insurance may be required depending on the purpose of your booking.
If you are conducting a class, workshop, or event open to the public or ticketed, you must hold your own current Public Liability Insurance covering your activities for at least $10 million, and provide a copy upon request.
Individual hirers using the studio for private gatherings, meetings, or personal use are generally not required to hold insurance.
The Joyful Place is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained during your booking.
It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that all required permits, licences, or approvals (if applicable) are obtained before the event.
